These people defy the expectations that you might have about them \u2013 they\u2019re not stupid, they just have these quote-unquote systems that aren\u2019t based in logic or statistical analysis, and they\u2019ve come to the logical conclusion that, for better or worse, somebody has to win.<\/p>\n
Studies have shown that those with low incomes tend to participate in the lottery at disproportionately high levels, and that they spend a disproportionate amount of their disposable income on the game.
